Who we are

Mister Cool California is a licensed HVAC contractor: verifiable, bonded, and operating across Greater Los Angeles

We hold California C-20 License #1143117 through the CSLB: the California Contractors State License Board, the state agency that issues and verifies contractor credentials. We are bonded through Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. Eight trained crews work across the Greater Los Angeles service area, from Long Beach to Riverside, from Santa Monica to San Bernardino. We do residential and commercial HVAC. One call covers all of it.

Our story

Mister Cool California was built in 2025 specifically to serve the Greater Los Angeles market

The conditions we work in across the basin every day.

Los Angeles has a particular HVAC challenge most people don't think about until it's 95 degrees. The basin traps heat. Coastal neighborhoods deal with salty, humid air that corrodes outdoor condenser coils faster than inland zones. The Inland Empire gets temperature swings of 40 degrees between morning and afternoon. One service area. Wildly different equipment demands depending on the zip code.

We launched because this market needed a licensed, bonded HVAC company that understands local conditions. A real team, with real credentials you can look up, built to cover the full range of what Greater Los Angeles HVAC requires.

We started with the credentials first. License before the first truck rolled. Bond in place before the first job. That order was intentional.

The team

The C-20 license, a California specialty contractor designation, is the credential that legally authorizes work on forced-air heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems in this state. It is issued by the CSLB after review. It is not self-reported.

The surety bond is a three-party financial guarantee. It involves the contractor, Nationwide Mutual, and the public. If a contractor fails to complete work or causes financial harm, the bond provides direct recourse. Ours is active and on file.

You don't have to take our word for any of this. The CSLB database is public. The bond is registered. Both are searchable.

Our standards

Every job follows the same documented process

  1. 01
All work performed to Los Angeles County and California building code standards.
  2. 02
Equipment selected for local conditions: coastal corrosion, Inland Empire heat cycles, and basin-level air quality factors all inform our recommendations.
  3. 03
Refrigerant handling follows current EPA requirements for the refrigerant types in use across Greater Los Angeles, including systems transitioning away from R-410A.
  4. 04
Indoor and outdoor equipment matched for the SEER2 efficiency standards required under California Title 24.
  5. 05
Post-installation checks on every job before crew departure.

Title 24 and permits

Title 24 energy code compliance affects what equipment we can legally install in California. We explain that upfront, before any equipment is selected. See also what homeowners need to know about Los Angeles HVAC permits.
